Delete your Watchly account and data

This page explains how to delete your account in Watchly, the watch party app by Watchly on Google Play and the App Store, and what happens to your data.

How to request deletion

Option 1 — in the Watchly app (instant):

  1. Open the Watchly app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Option 2 — without the app (this form):

  1. Enter the email address you use to sign in to Watchly.
  2. Tick the box to confirm you want your account and data deleted.
  3. Tap Request deletion. We'll verify the request, delete your data within 30 days, and confirm by email.

You can also email hi@letswatchly.online from the address on your account.

Data that is deleted

  • Your Watchly account and sign-in (email and password, Google or Apple sign-in)
  • Your profile: display name, username and profile photo
  • Your friends and recent connections, and anyone you've blocked
  • Your subscription event history stored by Watchly
  • Notification (push) tokens for your devices

Data that is kept, and for how long

  • Chat messages and queued videos live inside watch rooms and are deleted automatically when the room closes. They are not kept after that.
  • A deletion record containing only your internal account ID (no name or email) is kept for 30 days so your account can't be recreated by accident, then deleted.
  • Purchase and subscription records held by Google Play, the App Store, RevenueCat or Paddle are kept by those providers for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Reports and feedback you sent us may be kept for up to 12 months for safety and abuse prevention.
  • Backups are overwritten within 30 days.
  • Advertising data collected by our ad partners is held under their own policies. Reset your advertising ID in your device settings to unlink it.

Cancelling your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your store account first. See our Privacy Policy for details.
